Description

First published in 1697, the children's fairytale "Cinderella" has been teaching children about the importance of staying true to yourself. Children learn from an early age that bad things happen to good people for many different reasons and if you have faith, everything will work out in the end. The magic behind a fairy godmother and the vibrant colors through out the story help keep children's focus on the life lesson being presented. The Hofstra Special Collections Library contains a copy of the 1950 version of “Cinderella.” This version is slightly different costume-wise than the more modern Disney adaption of the work.
