Published in 1882, “The Book of Fables and Folk Stories”, collaborated by H.E Scudder contains various fables and folk stories some dating back as far as the 17th century. The book contains the fable of “Little Red Riding Hood” and “ The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg” among other stories that’s main goal is to teach children everything from not to trust strangers to nothing good ever comes out of being greedy. Fables and folk stories like this have appealed to children and their parents for centuries and it is why such stories, adapted over time are still being used in classrooms today.
