Description

First published in 1812, the fairytale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" has been teaching children that beauty isn't everything and not to trust strangers. The fairytale, all around, is about teaching young girls not to depend on looks but more of to be beautiful on the inside as well. This children’s book also teaches young males to be respectful of women and to learn when a friend is in need of help. The Hofstra Special Collections Library contains the 1938 version of the fairytale. Although the copies span from 1812 to the modern-day Disney version, the story appears to be unchanged regardless of a few minor discrepancies.
